Online poker sites regularly host live charity tournaments. These collect funds for needed causes and at the same time allow poker fans to play alongside their legends. Online poker site UB.com is often in the forefront of such charity tournaments. Its latest announcement is an event on March 3 at Hard Rock Casino in Vegas for the organization Victory Junction.
Victory Junction was founded in 2004 by legendary actor Paul Newman and NASCAR driver Kyle Petty. It provides life-changing experiences free-of-charge to kids with chronic medical conditions. To date, the foundation has enriched the lives of more than 11,000 children across 47 US states and three countries worldwide. The proceeds from the online poker site UB.com tournament will go to Victory Junction.
The charity event is open to public participation. It will be conducted in the Texas Hold’em variant of poker. The buy-in will be $250 and participants can optionally rebuy for $100. The online poker site UB.com will put up the prizes to final table players. Prizes will include a UB-branded 300 chipset, WSOP bag, shirts, baseball hats and other merchandise. The merchandise from UB.com is much sought by players at online poker sites.
The main attraction of this charity tournament is that it will be hosted by UB.com brand ambassador Tiffany Michele (in picture). Tiffany is an electrifying poker player and became a UB.com pro in 2008 after a stupendous performance in the WSOP Main Event where she finished 17th and was the last woman standing. Outside of poker she and fellow UB.com pro Maria Ho have competed in the Amazing Race TV show. Tiffany launched her own clothing line, “Tiffany Michelle by Black Ace” in 2009.
In fact this event is named the Victory Junction Black Ace Celebrity Charity Poker Tournament. The list of celebrities who have confirmed participation reads like the Who’s Who of the glamour world. The celebrities include 90210’s Ryan Eggold, ABC’s Bachelor Pad winners Natalie Getz and Dave Good, NASCAR legend Richard Petty, former Miss USA and Host of Bridalplasty Shanna Moakler, Avatar star Joel David Moore, Playboy Playmate Izabella St. James and poker pros Maria Ho and Antonio Esfandiari.
